Wandering Wednesday: Dream Big Read!
my local library the first chance I get.
I relished the library reading club when I was young, so each summer I can't wait to sign my kids up! The trips to the libray serve as an outing away from the house, throw in an easy lunch at the park (if there is one near by) and voila, a memory is made! Our library offers a free frosty at Wendy's when the kids meet certain goals, this just sweetens the trip. Then back to the house to curl up with a interesting book while little ones take a nap.
I was surprised to find that our local library has an adult reading club as well. Each time a book is completed, simply log on and record what you've read. As a bonus they give out prizes to the adults too. We have actually won tickets into some unexplored venues through the Summer Reading Program. My reading record stays on my account and it has been rewarding each summer to see what I had read the prior summers...from my Mom perspective where few things I do on a daily basis can be measured, it is a one of summer's simple pleasures.
