  • Discipleship

Raising our children and educating them could be described as, "a long obedience in the same direction." The longer we homeschool, the more we believe that to be obedient, to stay on the "narrow pathway" that Jesus described, we need the Lord desperately, and we also need each other.

  • Encouragement
    Encouragement

Encourage means, "to inspire with hope, courage, or confidence; hearten."

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up." I Thessalonians 5:11

Wandering Wednesday: Paperback Swap

Paperback Swap

How does this book swap work?

Simply pull any books off your bookshelf that you would like to swap then enter the ISBN# into the system and viola

your online bookshelf is established.

If a book is requested from your bookshelf then you pay the postage, and a shipping label (the system has already calculated the cost for that particular book, so no guessing or standing on the scale) can be printed right from your computer.  Place the book in an envelope and walk it to your mailbox.  No trips to the post office.  You will receive a credit to request the book of your choice and it is shipped to you - free of charge!  That's the best part!

Another feature is the "Wish List", place books that you are looking for on your wish list.  When those books become available they will be shipped to you.  I have an older series that I scour used book shops and antique stores to find missing editions.  It is encouraging to have these books on my wish list because it reaches so many people via the internet.  Often I can use my credits to order books that my kids need for their literature classes, and have occasionally found a needed textbook too!

There is a section to swap CD's and DVD's too.

This has become a summertime hobby that I really enjoy. I know this is not the only book swap out there...do you have a favorite?
