  • Discipleship

Raising our children and educating them could be described as, "a long obedience in the same direction." The longer we homeschool, the more we believe that to be obedient, to stay on the "narrow pathway" that Jesus described, we need the Lord desperately, and we also need each other.

  • Encouragement
    Encouragement

Encourage means, "to inspire with hope, courage, or confidence; hearten."

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up." I Thessalonians 5:11

A Joy Challenge

Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances,

for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

~I Thessalonians 5:16-18~

joy

If I ever wonder what God's will is for me, this verse makes it crystal clear.  Such challenging words - always, continually, and ALL things. My challenge to myself and you is to retrain our thinking and behavior to LIVE and OBEY this verse - daily!

A couple of helps:

  • Meditate on the scripture that in God's presence there is fullness of JOY!  (Psalm 16:11) or Psalm 32:11, Habakkuk 3:18, John 15:11, James 1:2
  • Post this scripture and others that encourage me to turn my thoughts to the Lord and His plans in prominent places around my home.
  • Learn to stop and evaluate my thoughts and heart to stay in line with being joyful - always, prayerful - continually, and thankful - in ALL things.
  • I am going to fail...daily! I need to ask forgiveness and try again, and again, and again.
  • IMPORTANT - recognize that joy is a fruit of the SPIRIT.  I can not be joyful always without the amazing power of the Holy Spirit working within me.
Will you take the Joy Challenge with me?

Please leave us a comment about your journey to walk in joy!
